ZONE adds charity concert to their reunion month

Japanese pop-rock band ZONE announced last May that they would be reuniting in August for one month only. Only three of the four members will be returning, however, as drummer MIZUHO retired from the entertainment industry.
MIYU, MAIKO, and TOMOKA will be performing two concerts on August 14th and 15th, and they’ve just added a charity concert in Chichibu, Saitama for the 27th.
The group decided to reunite in order to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their hit song, “secret base ~kimi ga kureta mono~“. The song’s lyrics include the line, “10 years from now, I believe we can meet again in August.” True to their word, the group will indeed be “meeting again” in August.
The song was also covered as the ending theme song for the anime, “Ano hi mita Hana no namae wo Bokutachi wa mada shirana” (a.k.a. “Ano Hana“). The anime is based off the city, Chichibu, and so the city’s Chamber of Commerce specifically asked ZONE to perform at the charity concert.
The girls will join other artists on an outdoor stage at Muse Park. Ticket sales will begin on August 6th and range from ¥3,000 to ¥5,000. All proceeds will be donated to help those who were affected by the tsunami in Rikuzen-Takata, Iwata.

Although the first and second place was going back and forth throughout the previous week against Tohoshinki’s new single, “Superstar”, but in the end, the girls were able to follow through to score first place with their new debut single.
Yamamoto additionally stated, “This is accomplishment is all because of our fans and our seniors who have made our ’48 groups’ big. Even though we are powerless right now, we want to, as NMB48, to continue to grow so that we can keep up with our seniors.” Member Watanabe Miyuki (17) continued, “I will continue to do our best so that people will recognize our ranking so please back us up,” and asked for the audience for future support.

“Ai Ore!” to be released as a live-action movie

It’s been reported that manga artist Shinjo Mayu’s popular work, “Ai Ore! Danshikou no Hime to Joshikou no Ouji“, will be released as a live-action movie at the end of the year.
“Ai Ore! Danshikou no Hime to Joshikou no Ouji” follows a love story between a tomboyish girl and a boy who looks like a girl. There’s a strong theme of cross-dressing, which has been a popular trend in recent years.
The manga was first serialized as “Ai wo Utau Yori Ore ni Oborero!” in Shogakukan’s Shoujo Comic (now called Sho-Comi). The title was later changed to “Ai Ore! Danshikou no Hime to Joshikou no Ouji”, and re-started its serialization in ‘Gekkan Asuka‘. The first volume of the series has just ended, and is currently absent from publication.
Shinjo commented, “When this manga became a drama CD in favor of Aniplex, it sold nearly ten thousand copies and became a big hit. There were also plans for it to become an anime, but it faced many unfortunate events. Later, President Inoue from Kadokawa Book Store picked it up, and we have been able to come this far.”
She continued, “When I first heard about the live-action movie, I was just so happy, and I felt so rewarded. It’s a story about a cross-dressing boy and girl, but I am so flattered that the world has finally caught up to me. For the cast, I requested that it doesn’t matter if they’re new or unknown, just as long as they fit the image of the characters perfectly. As a result, we have brought together a wonderful cast that fans will be able to agree on! I am very excited to see what kind of movie it will be!”

Drama Prime Time Report – July 19th~21

"Wah.. the ratings went up again!?" ("Bull Doctor")
The first half of the week, excluding Monday which was mentioned in the previous report, featured a very strong Wednesday for TV channels in general and a Thursday drama that doesn’t seem to go well with the viewers.
The first Tuesday drama, “Zettai Reido 2“, continued to do well for its second week with a normal loss of about 1%. Unfortunately “Team Batista 3” lost a couple more viewers while every other channel improved their ratings compared to last week. After the end of NHK’s second Tuesday spring drama, they are going to premiere a new drama next week, starring the popular Matsushita Nao, so let’s wait and see how this one will influence the ratings of “Team Batista 3″.
As already mentioned, the Wednesday was quite amazing for most of the channels. If we were to include the 8pm time slot, there was only one show during the prime time with a single-digit rating.
When looking at the dramas, “Sousa Ikka 9-Gakkari 3” continued with its ~15% ratings and “Bull Doctor” quickly recovered back to its initial ratings from the first episode. Even the late-night drama “Rokudenashi BLUES” was seen by a couple more people that day.
"...bang!" ("Meitantei Conan")
Scrolling down to Thursday, we can clearly see a lot more red icons compared to Wednesday. Even “Kyoto Chiken no Onna” would usually get a red icon, since it lost 0.6% compared to the first episode, but the icons are supposed to show the weekly difference and last week TV Asahi aired a golf tournament instead of the drama.
The only ‘true’ green icon that is standing out is the one in front of the new drama “Hi Wa Mata Noboru“, starring Sato Koichi and Miura Haruma. Many have been waiting for the continuation of the drama special, so it achieved a very nice rating of 13.5%. Most of the recent dramas in that time slot had a worse start.
At 10pm, Fuji TV still has to continue to grief over the ratings of “Soredemo, Ikite Yuku“. The splendid drama is now down to 7.4% and it’s difficult to tell whether viewers will change their opinion during the coming weeks. Maybe they should have aired it on Sunday, since Thursday recently had a lot of suspense dramas. The fall or winter season might have been more suitable for such a drama as well.

NHK, TBS and TV Tokyo usually don’t disclose the ratings for their shows on a regular basis, therefore they won’t be included in the list below. Certain dramas or drama specials that aired on those channels and might lack ratings are still included with a ??.?% rating. This doesn’t mean that the ratings were too low to recorded.
Improvements and declines will be illustrated with the use of several icons. The colors and the numbers indicate how much the ratings have changed.
An orange color means almost no change, while a red color means the ratings dropped, and a green color means the ratings improved.
